Pre-Dance Ballet And Creative Movement

In this class, the participants will be taught the foundation of Ballet. Students will be exposed to the basic ballet skills, terminology, & develop through creative movement to the latest music. There is emphasis put on stage presentation but most of all dance movement used to stimulate the imagination. Props are often used in this class to help kids understand counts, rhythm, and enhance different motor skills. This class is often used to create a fun and safe environment for our young people.

Loop Squad Dancers (Mini’s, Jr’s, Seniors)

This class is advanced and requires 2-3 years dance experience with Ms.K’s Dance Academy & or a Try-Out. Dynamic choice of dance, which explores all genres of Dance. Emphasis has now been put on the Genre of Hip-Hop & Majorette where students explore different rhythms, precise synchronization, balance, flexibility & so much more. This is all done to the latest Hip-Hop music as well as familiar HBCU cadences. Students who join this group are the representatives of the program when called to do different performances and workshops for our community outside of their regular dance schedule. Captains are usually chosen for each group to keep the group groomed and informed.

Ms.K kids Poms Squad

Dynamic choice of dance, this class puts emphasis on rhythm, synchronization with the use of pom poms, balance, flexibility & so much more. This is all done to the latest music as well as familiar HBCU cadences. Students will acquire stamina & strength while participating in this form of dance. Students will learn the usage of kick lines in their routines. Students will promote school spirit with their pom routines.

Swagga Jumpers Double Dutch Program

In this class, the students will be exposed to the sport of Double Dutch. Beginners will chant, dance, jump, hop, Exercise, learn Rhythm, learn the beat of the rope, fun tricks that will keep them moving & engaged while having fun. Students will explore the social aspect of being a part of a team. Advanced participants will learn the terminologies & components of competitive Double Dutch. Participants will also learn turning & can be a part of the world championship Swagga Jumpers. Being a part of this team w/ Ms.K does mean opportunities to compete on a state championship level & participate in different shows. Uniform is required and cost varies.
