Kyaisha Max-Macarthy (Ms.K)

Hip-Hop/ Modern /Beginners Ballet/HBCU Dancer /Double Dutch Coach

 

Kyaisha Max-Macarthy, Known as Ms.K in the Brooklyn community. Ms.K has a strong passion for the the art of Dance. She was captain and choreographer of the 1st Historical Black College, Lincoln University Onyx Dance troop for 4 years. She has trained in the area of Hip-Hop, African and Lyrical Dance at Ronald Edmunds Learning Center, Broadway Dance Center & at her University. Ms.K has been a Hip-Hop & Majorette Dance Instructor mainly, throughout the borough of Brooklyn for the past 5 years. Ms.K has been dancing since she was 10 years old, but it was at the 1st Historical Black College where her passion for Dance took off. Graduating with A Business Management degree she knew she would want to open up a dance school and Double-Dutch studio for the community in which she grew up in. On January 15th 2010 Ms.K opened up Ms.K's Dance Academy Downtown Brooklyn with the support of friends, family and Mentors. Ms.K has created a studio space within her local community center where Friendships are made, Experiences are created and Goals are met. It is a place where young women & instructors are encouraged to follow their dreams.

Throughout Ms.K's career it has always been her dream to create a home for her kids. Particularly, the kids who have stayed loyal to the program through its growing process. On March 8th 2020 , after 10 long, hard years of consistency, dedication, trials and tribulations Ms.K's Dance Academy opened the doors of their own home. Ms.K managed to blind fold each and every student and surprise them with their 1st very own Dance home. Ms.K intends to be recognized for her contribution to underserved communities, creating jobs and granting opportunities for anyone in her power.


Ms.K enjoys listening to motivational speeches , setting goals for herself, taking it to the streets with her kids,

and making her community and family Happy.

Ms.K has planted her seed, and intends on continuing to water it and watch it grow.
